Israeli designers join Vietnam fashion week
VietNamNet Bridge – A group of Israeli fashion designers from the Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art will present their latest collections at the fourth Viet Nam International Fashion Week 2017 (VNIFW), which will open tonight in HCM City.

The designers will join 20 foreign and Vietnamese colleagues during the three-day event.
Leah Perez, head of the Shenkar’s design faculty, and lecturer Rachel Berman Hadari will feature a taste of Israel culture and lifestyle through their clothes.
Shenkar, opened in 1970, was named after Aryeh Shenkar, a pioneer in the Israeli textile industry. The institute provides academic qualifications and R&D services for modern industry.
It is ranked ninth on the “The Top 50 Fashion Schools in the World” list by FASHIONISTA, a US-based website on fashion.
Several famous designers from international fashion houses, including Lavin and Nili Lotan NY, studied at Shenkar.
The VNIFW 2017 include a total of 20 shows featuring creations by Vietnamese and foreign designers from Israel, Germany, Australia, Portuguese, Thailand and South Korea.
More than 150 items will be presented by 100 fashion models in Ha Noi and HCM City.
The event will feature new collections by young Vietnamese designers such as Do Long, Chung Thanh Phong and Hoang Le Ha.
Local fashion brandnames 21 Six and Xita will also be highlighted.
Organised by Multimedia JSC, a leading agency in modeling and TV reality show production, the event this year is expected to attract more international attention.
It will open at 8pm tonight at Gem Centre, 8 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, in District 1.
